We will also have a handful of donated books to give away to encourage summer reading. If you have some you can donate, either drop off in the bin inside the main door or email email@example.com to arrange for pick up.
Friday is our Field Day! Make sure your students follow the guidelines that were sent home. Download here. If you are volunteering, you should be getting instructions. The annual volunteer appreciation lunch will also be Friday. If you have helped at all during the year at the school or the PTO, you should have received an invitation.

If you have a 5th grade student going to Heritage Middle School next year, please come out to Moving Up Night tonight at 6:30 at 390 N Spring Rd, Westerville, OH 43082. You will get a chance to learn more about how middle school works and look around the building.

Please come out to support Hawthorne with a fun evening at World of Bounce in Gahanna! Tuesday is for Grades 3-5 and Thursday is for K-2. If you have students in both, we encourage you to pick one night if possible.
From 6-8. Two hours of bouncing plus a drink for $7.50. You may also choose to order pizza delivered to eat there.

- We have scheduled two nights next week at World of Bounce in Gahanna! For $7.50 students can bounce for two hours and receive a beverage at the door. We scheduled two nights to reduce the risk of overcrowding and encourage you to only attend one night if possible. See attached for more info. Flyers going home soon!
2. If you ordered from the last fundraiser, pick up is at the school on April 27 from 2 to 5.
3. Finally, we want to congratulate the winners of our school Invention Convention and Trash to Fashion competitions. The Trash to Fashion winners will be competing at the Starry Night festival on Sunday from 2-6. Check the whole event out. See attached!

Please come out tonight for a celebration of Hawthorne’s many cultures! Starting at 6:30, there will be food sampling in the cafeteria, tables representing some of our countries, 5th grade artwork from different cultures and a 4th grade recorder performance of world music!
Also don’t forget Thursday is spring picture day at school as well as the 2nd grade music performance in the evening! And fundraiser orders are due on Friday!

We also are excited to announce that Chris Poynter, who started our Hawthorne Hackers club with Megan Winand, is our Great Educator Mentor (GEM) award recipient for this year! Congrats!!

This week, Hawthorne has been participating in the Start With Hello program, which is aimed at teaching students how to include others and to become more connected to one another. The 2nd-5th graders have had assemblies, a visit from the Minerva Park police and lots of other activities throughout the week. On Friday, students (and teachers and staff!) have been asked to wear green to school, one of the colors of Sandy Hook Elementary.
